The IBB 2025 Annual Report is now available!

The centre strengthens its commitment to scientific excellence, with more research talent, new international projects, and high-impact scientific output

2025 has been an especially intense year for the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (IBB, CSIC–CMCNB), and the new annual report reflects this very well. Throughout the year, the IBB has continued to consolidate itself as a leading centre in research on biodiversity and evolution, combining cutting-edge science with the value of its scientific and historical heritage.

The report highlights the wide range of research lines developed at the centre, including studies on plant evolution, genetics, biogeography, pollination, insect migration, invasive species, and the impacts of climate change on biodiversity. It also includes work on genomics, conservation, and research based on the historical herbarium collections, as well as the centre’s participation in international projects and collaborations. Altogether, it reflects interdisciplinary research connected to some of today’s major environmental challenges.
