Discovering nature through research: open seminar at the IBB

On Monday, 16 February, the Barcelona Botanical Institute (IBB, CSIC-CMCNB) will host an open seminar with two consecutive lectures given by researchers from the University of Padua (Italy). The session will take place from 12:00 to 13:30, in the Salvador Room.

The seminar will begin with a lecture by Francesco Dal Grande, Associate Professor at the Department of Biology, University of Padua, titled “From Heritage to Innovation: Research at the Botanical Garden of Padua”. In this talk, Dal Grande will present research conducted at the Botanical Garden of Padua, highlighting the connection between its scientific heritage and current research challenges.

Next, Garima Singh, from the Department of Biology at the University of Padua, will give the lecture “Treasure hunting in nature for metabolic gems”, focusing on exploring nature as a source of new compounds and metabolic processes of interest.

The event is open to everyone, both the centre’s community and the general public, and no prior registration is required. It’s a great opportunity to learn about research connecting scientific heritage, biodiversity, and innovation!
